Subscriptions

Subscriptions allows you to create and manage recurring subscriptions for your customers within Lumino. You can assign subscriptions to existing customers, create new customers during setup, attach existing or new products, choose how payment will be

Creating a Subscription

To create a subscription, log into app.lumino.io and navigate to Subscriptions using the left-hand navigation menu.

From there, click + Create Subscription.

You will first need to assign a customer to the subscription. You can either select an existing customer or click + Add New Customer to create one during the subscription setup flow.

Once a customer has been assigned, select the product for the subscription. You can choose from an existing product or click + Create New Product to create a new one.

After the customer and product have been added, choose how the subscription will be collected. You will have two options:

  • Send subscription link to customer

  • Auto-charge customer using a saved payment method

If you choose to auto-charge the customer, a payment method must already be saved on file for that customer.

You may also choose to apply a free trial. If a free trial is enabled, select the number of days the trial should last.

Once everything has been configured, click Create Subscription.

Depending on the payment collection method selected, Lumino will either send a subscription link to the customer or automatically charge the saved payment method after the free trial period ends, if applicable.

Viewing Subscriptions

Within the Subscriptions section, you can view all subscriptions by status, including:

  • Active

  • Sent

  • Canceled

This allows you to quickly review the current state of your subscription activity.

Viewing Subscription Details

To view the details of a subscription, click on the applicable subscription row.

Within the subscription details, you can view:

  • The customer tied to the subscription

  • The product or products attached to the subscription

  • The total monthly subscription amount

  • The subscription status

  • Whether a free trial was included when the subscription was created

  • The current billing period

  • The payment method attached to the subscription

At the bottom of the page, under Payments, you can also review the lifecycle of the subscription, including:

  • How many payments have been made

  • Whether a free trial was applied

  • Any overdue or missed payments shown in the status section

Cancelling a Subscription

To cancel a subscription, open the subscription details page and click Cancel Subscription in the top-right corner.

A confirmation prompt will appear with two options:

  • Yes, Cancel

  • Keep Subscription

If confirmed, the subscription will be canceled. If selected by mistake, choose Keep Subscription to return without making changes.

Tips

  • Make sure the correct customer is selected before creating the subscription

  • A saved payment method is required before using the auto-charge option

  • Use a free trial when you want to delay the first charge for a set number of days

  • Review subscription details regularly to monitor payment activity and missed payments

  • Use the subscription status views to quickly find active, sent, or canceled subscriptions
